Georgina finds it a challenge to wear the cloak of I’m-doing-just-fine as the family descend to celebrate her thirtieth birthday. Still living at home with her parents and siblings, she is torn between the traditional Greek values she has been raised with and a more liberated life; the time has come for change. An encounter with Jake O’Sullivan finds her ready to take a chance on romance, but will she stumble at the first obstacle? 

A holiday to Greece with her sisters gives her the chance to escape, but Georgina discovers she is not the only sister having to resolve inner conflicts. Katherina is determined to make a go of a relationship with a suitor introduced by the family despite her growing feelings for a new colleague. A secret hidden in the past keeps her captive and she is afraid to go to that place of pain again. But the past catches up with Katherina and the revelation shocks Georgina and their younger sister, Sophia. 

Sophia is regarded as the rebel of the family. She has struggled to reconcile family expectations with her own aspirations, but is excited by the new direction her life is taking. Her impulsive nature leads to a friendship developing with Harry, the ‘unfriendly neighbour’. She cannot resist probing behind his taciturn manner, but is taken off guard by what she finds. 

Georgina and her sisters are set on a course for change that will put family relationships and loyalties to the test.
